Anti-cheat overview
Hypixel's anti-cheat is called Watchdog. It combines server-side movement validation, combat pattern analysis, and behavioral heuristics. Hypixel also runs periodic "ban waves" that remove accounts flagged by aggregated data rather than immediate detection.
Because Watchdog is not publicly documented, exact detection thresholds are not available. Community observation suggests the system is aggressive on combat and movement anomalies, more tolerant of rendering differences, and continually updated.
Common detection patterns
- Combat modules: KillAura with high reach, Velocity with unusual knockback values, and Criticals with abnormal timing are commonly flagged.
- Movement modules: Fly and BHop are almost universally detected on protected servers. Speed with high multipliers is detected quickly.
- Visual modules: X-Ray is generally not detectable because it is client-side, but Hypixel uses ore obfuscation to make X-Ray ineffective on some game modes.
- World modules: Nuker and Scaffold produce block interaction patterns that no human player produces.
Ban waves vs immediate bans
Hypixel's system does not always ban immediately on detection. Flagged accounts may be allowed to play while their behavior is recorded. Ban waves remove many flagged accounts at once. This means a module that appears to work for weeks can result in a sudden ban.
Alternative servers
If you want to use clients without violating server rules, use servers whose rules permit them. Examples include:

- Other anarchy servers — check each server's rules.
- Private servers you control — no rules against client usage.
