Fly

Fly enables airborne movement in survival mode without elytra, levitation, or any vanilla mechanic. It is the single most detected movement module on servers with anti-cheat, because vanilla Minecraft has no legitimate way for a player to remain airborne under their own power.

What it does

Fly overrides the player's vertical and horizontal movement constraints. Configurable options:

  • Horizontal speed — movement speed while airborne.
  • Vertical speed — ascent and descent rates.
  • Mode — Vanilla, Glide, Jetpack, or client-specific modes.
  • Anti-kick — server-specific handling to reduce obvious kicks.
  • Glide — mimics elytra flight, slightly lower detection profile than free flight.

Server compatibility

  • HypixelRestricted. Watchdog flags any airborne movement without elytra or levitation.
  • 2b2tPermitted. No anti-cheat active.
  • CubeCraftRestricted. Sentinel flags sustained airborne states.

Detection behavior

Fly is detectable at the fundamental level:

  • Airborne state tracking. Server tracks whether the player is on the ground; sustained airborne without elytra is impossible in vanilla.
  • Y-coordinate changes. Any upward movement without a jump, ladder, or elytra is flagged.
  • Position deltas. Server compares client-reported position against expected physics.
  • Fall damage absence. Landing after airborne without damage is a strong signal.

Glide mode reduces detection on servers that permit elytra. Free-flight modes are universally flagged on protected servers.

Known limitations

  • Anti-cheat systems that track fall damage will detect Flight on landing.
  • Some servers kick players who stay airborne above a Y threshold.
  • Fly combined with Speed produces an extreme movement profile that is trivially detected.
