Scaffold

Scaffold places blocks beneath the player automatically while they walk, allowing safe traversal over gaps, water, and lava. It also supports tower mode for vertical climbing. Server-side checks flag Scaffold based on placement rate and rotation patterns.

What it does

Scaffold monitors the player's position and places a block at the appropriate coordinate whenever the player would otherwise fall. Configurable options:

  • Mode — bridge, tower, or both.
  • Placement delay — time between placements.
  • Rotation — whether to rotate the camera toward each placement.
  • Sprint — auto-sprint while scaffolding.
  • Sneak — auto-sneak to prevent accidental falls.

Client support

Client Status Notes
Wurst Yes Bridge and tower modes with delay
Meteor Yes Advanced placement options
LiquidBounce Yes Multiple algorithms
Future Yes Runtime injection implementation
Boze Yes Anarchy-focused implementation

Server compatibility

  • HypixelRestricted. Placement rate and rotation are validated.
  • 2b2tPermitted. No anti-cheat active.
  • CubeCraftRestricted. Sentinel validates placement timing.

Detection behavior

Anti-cheat systems monitor:

  • Placement rate. Vanilla players cannot place blocks at the rate Scaffold does.
  • Rotation timing. Vanilla requires the camera to face the block before placing it.
  • Movement while placing. Continuous forward motion while placing blocks behind the player is unusual.

Scaffold with randomized delay and rotation to each block is less obvious. Fast scaffold or tower mode is flagged almost immediately.

Known limitations

  • Requires blocks in inventory; without material Scaffold does nothing.
  • Some servers disable block placement while moving.
  • Fast tower mode often desyncs and produces ghost blocks.
