FullBright
FullBright sets the client's internal brightness value above the vanilla maximum. Areas that would be pitch-black become fully visible without placing torches, drinking a night vision potion, or using a light source.

What it does
FullBright overrides the gamma value the client uses for lighting calculations. Configurable options:
- Brightness level — usually a multiplier between 1 and 100.
- Toggle key — optional keybind for rapid on/off.
Client support
| Client | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Wurst | Yes | Gamma override with toggle key |
| Meteor | Yes | Configurable brightness level |
| LiquidBounce | Yes | Toggle and brightness control |
| Aristois | Yes | Multi-version support |
Server compatibility
- Hypixel — Restricted. Prohibited by server rules but client-side only.
- 2b2t — Permitted. No anti-cheat active.
- CubeCraft — Restricted. Client-side, not detectable.
Detection behavior
FullBright does not send packets. The client simply displays the world brighter than the server intended. Server-side detection is not possible. Some servers run texture packs that force dark rendering on their clients, which bypasses FullBright in specific game modes.
Known limitations
- Some servers use custom lighting to render caves dark regardless of gamma. FullBright may not override this.
- Brightness oversaturation can make ores harder to distinguish in some lighting conditions.
